Support Mama Music at the ZenCloud Festival

Madula and Mama Music

Madula has been inspiring children, young people & communities through creativity & performance since 1998. They have worked closely with their partner school Mama Music in Kampala, Uganda, since 2019.

Founded and headed by musician Adam Luwandaga, the school provides education, music and dance opportunities to young people who would otherwise never get such a chance. Many come from very disadvantaged backgrounds. The school also provides a safe space for many young people to live and thrive, saving them from homelessness and exploitation.

Adam says, "Our vision is to teach and transform lives through music, dance and art. We believe that when we learn well, we can create a better future through all of our combined talents.”

The school currently has over 50 pupils, and nobody is turned away who wants to become a member. All that is required is dedication and hard work. Adam wants to help as many young people as he can.

"Growing up from a poor background, none of us could depend on the usual education because of high school fees, but I realised by performing I could get scholarships and even earn income for my family. I worked hard to develop my talents, and took a lot of advice. I realised if we can pass these talents on then many lives can be changed, as well as keeping our traditions alive.”

Mama Music needs our help

It is always a challenge to run such a programme, and in recent times, one of the Mama Music sponsors has dropped out, leaving the school in a state of emergency with a very real chance of closing soon. They are seeking to raise six months running costs, while trying to secure future sponsors for their longer term.

  • £200 per month provides food for more than 50 children living & learning at Mama Music's school.
  • £100 per month provides wood for cooking & electricity.
  • £360 per month covers the rent for the school, which provides accommodation & learning facilities for these children who, comparatively to us in England have nothing materially, yet everything in terms of energy & inspiration!

Please help us in our mission to support Mama Music to survive!
